What the extension does

Video Controls & Downloader for Instagram adds a video control bar (play/pause, seek, playback speed, download, fullscreen) to videos on instagram.com. All processing happens locally in your browser.

Data collection

• Personal information: none collected.
• Browsing history: none collected.
• Analytics or tracking: none. The extension contains no analytics, telemetry, tracking pixels, or third-party scripts.
• External servers: the extension operates entirely on instagram.com and never communicates with any server owned by the developer or third parties.

Local storage

The extension stores exactly one preference using Chrome's storage API: whether the control bar is enabled or disabled. This value stays in your browser (synced by Chrome if you use Chrome Sync) and is never accessible to the developer.

Permissions

• downloads — used only to save a video to your local Downloads folder when you explicitly click the download button.
• storage — used only for the on/off preference described above.
• instagram.com host access — required to display the control bar on Instagram pages. The extension does not run on any other website.

Downloads

Videos you download are saved directly from Instagram's servers to your own device. No copy, log, or record of your downloads is sent anywhere. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to save the content you download.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this URL and the "last updated" date will be revised.
